Ladies. We can’t wait.
10 years ago, from around a little kitchen table, came a big idea that would inspire the nation — to bring together the most unique, stylish and never-before-seen products that are hard to find anywhere else. That idea was notonthehighstreet.com which Holly co-founded with Sophie Cornish.
An entrepreneur to some, Holly likes to think of herself as an imagineer – someone who believes in the impossible and the power of creativity. As the UK Ambassador to Creative Small Businesses, Holly is working to positively influence the creative movement by amplifying the voice of creative small business owners and Artisans across the world.
Holly has recently launched Holly & Co, which as a concept, is the first of its kind. The aim: to shine a light on the remarkable creatives, small business owners and Artisans who are the backbone of our societies.
Steph Douglas, Founder, Don’t Buy Her Flowers
Steph started Don’t Buy Her Flowers in 2014. The business was founded with a simple aim: to provide thoughtful gift packages for new mums, because they deserve something lovely just for them.
Although flowers are always lovely to receive, Steph wanted to create something that was more thoughtful and useful for mums and women at times when they need it most. Steph had first hand experience of ‘floral overwhelm’ when receiving eight bunches of flowers after having her first child – more than she had vases for.
“Flowers say “I’m thinking of you”. A gift package from Don’t Buy Her Flowers says ‘I’m thinking of you, this package is all about you and I hope it makes you feel good’.”
Steph’s packages encourage women to take ten minutes for themselves. For new mums especially – it’s amazing but can also be very hard. Knowing someone is thinking of you can be a huge boost and that’s what Don’t Buy Her Flowers is all about.
Sommer Pyne, Founder, House Curious
House Curious is the brainchild of Sommer Pyne. Based in London for the last 12 years, Sommer grew up in the sunny climes of Sydney, Australia. House Curious is a coming together of the Australian lifestyle she experienced and the rich creative tapestry of London living. A keen traveller with a passion for food, interiors and design, Sommer wanted to bring all these passions to one place to share with other like-minded people.
Opening the doors to her newly renovated home in Wandsworth Common, Sommer has created House Curious as a unique, private space to host fun and imaginative workshops and events for the curious-minded. Partnering up with local designers, artisans and makers, House Curious brings about exciting and fresh learning experiences. It’s a place to learn something new with fellow inquisitive souls and share food and stories around a table. You can expect cooking workshops, photography, interior and food styling, wine and cheese tasting, craft nights, wellness days, mother and baby afternoons, the list is endless. Add the occasional intimate supper club, pop up shop and Winging It Workshop to the mix (!) and there you have it… House Curious.
Hannah Allen, Co-Founder, Chalet Shop
Chalet Shop was created by old friends, Hannah Allen and Sally Ingham, who share a passion for skiing and the mountains borne out of years of experience of living, working and holidaying in the Alps.
Hannah spent eight years renovating, setting up and managing Sir Richard Branson’s exclusive Virgin Limited Edition ski chalet in Verbier. During this time she gained first-hand experience of how challenging it can be to source unique and high quality furnishings at sensible prices in the Alps. After years of dealing with a long list of international suppliers and overcoming complex delivery scenarios, the idea for Chalet Shop was born.
Now re-united in the UK, the ladies have pooled resources, contacts and enthusiasm to create the beautiful Chalet Shop range, ready to be delivered to the mountains in a few simple clicks.
